Demonstration by Debbie Cox making rice paper flowers was enjoyed by the Newbury Members and finishing with a mini workshop of the basics of making a rice paper rose.

Marissa used Saracino to make a little girl,dressed in a red dress, pictured below and showing different stages, adding facial features were particularly interesting.
Some members chose to do different figures instead of a pirate. We used Saracino paste which was new to many of us but was an excellent paste to work with as it didn’t dry out and crack. It also doesn’t need glue so everything was very neat.
The first photos below are of a cake Gill Glare made adapting a Pirate Model for a friends birthday cake.
